Accepting New Patients!

Kara M. Kassay MD

We have expanded our urgent care availability and now schedule same-day appointments. Call early as these same-day appointments go fast. Healthcare can't always be planned and we want to accommodate our patients as best we can. Scheduling is available Monday through Friday 8:30am-5:00pm.

New patient visits and physicals are 30 minute appointments. This is double the time most physicians are allowed and surprises many new patients. Doctor Kassay believes this is mandatory to gather a full medical history and a full exam. Doctor Kassay's detailed philosophy to medicine can be read here. Please plan accordingly when scheduling your first appointment and download the initial forms to simplify your first visit. Kassay Family Medical Clinic runs on time and it is unfair to other patients if you arrive late. If you are a new patient, please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment allowing time to finish paperwork and copy the appropriate documents.

Don't forget to schedule your kids of all ages! Dr. Kassay has a thriving pediatrics practice and a special room just for kids! Many of her families appreciate the convenience of one location for the entire family and not changing doctors when the kids grow too old for a pediatrician.

Dr. Kassay is a preferred provider for most major insurance plans including the new PERS insurance carrier. Please call for more information.

We have an on site lab, and comprehensive skin care including FDA approved skin laser treatments and botox performed by Dr. Kassay personally. Visit our new Kassay Skin Care for additional information.

Dr. Kassay's private practice is now accepting new patients. We are conveniently located near the Lake Grove post office:

Most Insurances are now paying for Hep-C testing

On Feb 27, 2013 the CDC issued a recommendation that all Americans born from 1945-1965 get tested for hepatitis C. People in this age group are five times more likely to have hepatitis C, but most do not know they are infected. If you were born from 1945-1965, most private insurance are now paying for a one time test that we can give in-house

Food Juicing

Our lives rely on eating. Healthy lives depend on eating better. Think about supplementing your diet with a food juicer. They are an excellent tool to obtain benefits of 'green food' and a great alternative to sugar laden drinks kids have too much of.
Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on pre-packaged vitamins and supplements, a one time investment in a quality juicer will pay dividends all year. Get the kids involved in their nutrition from a young age!  Most systems are well designed and safe for kids (supervised) to operate.

Michael Pollan | Food Rules

I have been endorsing Pollan's books as a no nonsense response to "Doc...what/how should I be eating?" I recommend his book every day to patients and colleagues. So read the book and eat less, eat better.

Physical vs Office Visit

If your insurance company covers Physicals, they are typically considered preventative care appointments. If you have other concerns, other than preventative care you should schedule a standard office visit. We are scheduling office visits same-week while physicals are scheduled up to three months in advance. We do not want you to postpone care!

FAQ that should be helpful.
